As a post-graduate, Maura was the first recipient of the C.V. Starr Fellowship for training in Far Eastern Art Conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. She held the position for three years. A Kress Foundation grant funded an internship and then a permanent post in the Eastern Pictorial Art Conservation Department of the British Museum, London. Continuing her interest in computerized documentation, Maura represented her department on a task force to network conservation records in museums throughout the United Kingdom.

In 1990, Maura switched from the public to the private sector while assisting a contemporary art dealer. The association demonstrated the need for greater access to professional advice in collections care. With twenty-five years of experience in conservation and arts administration, Maura has applied her knowledge and experience by providing museum-quality art collections management services to private collectors, institutions, foundations and corporations.

Maura speaks Mandarin Chinese, and has studied Japanese and French.

SARA Madeleine HENDERSON

Sara by Sarah Fisher

Sara Madeleine Henderson joined Artiphile, New York in 2009 and opened Artiphile’s Houston office in Summer 2018. She brings over a decade of experience with family office and art collections management.

Having honed her skills as Archivist at Marlborough Gallery and Assistant Director for The Asian American Arts Centre, both in New York, she took her love of art and savvy for management to private collections and began work in the family office of a Houston-based CEO. There she managed fine art and valuables collections as well as various real estate projects.

A move in 2017 to one of Houston’s top Wealth Management Firms clarified the legal, insurance, tax and gift planning implications of collecting; during this time she completed the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) Certification Education Program at Rice University. Sara has a Master’s Degree in Art History from Louisiana State University where she focused on Chinese Art History, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Fine Art, from Smith College.
